Find Forms are popup search forms used to find and select values from large lists, such as Suppliers, Items or Addresses. Find Forms provide a high-performance alternative to the traditional Combo Drop-Down controls.

To display a find form click the Find icon ( ) in a field on an Entry Form or Add Form. Below is an example of a field with a Find icon from the Purchase Orders form.

Tip: You can enter a part of the value to find in the field before you click Find. If there is a value entered then the Find Form will automatically apply a filter only showing any matches for the first few characters of the value you entered.

Here is an example of a Find Form - showing all active Suppliers that start with "BI":

You can enter filters for any column using standard Filter Syntax. Click Query to apply your filters and search for matching records.

To confirm your selection:

Either click anywhere on the row you want (this will make the row "active" and display a black arrow in the row selector), then click OK
OR
Double-click the row selector for the row you want.

After confirming your selection the Find Form will close and the selected value will be updated on the Entry/Add form.

To cancel without making a selection:

Click Cancel to close the Find Form without making a selection. Nothing will be changed on the Entry/Add form.

Note: Some Find Forms may allow you to create new values in the list. In cases where this is supported you can click the Add New button located at the bottom-right of the form to add a new value.
